FAQ
Good questions, straight answers.
Everything about our snow plans, booking online and summer services. Still stuck? Call the storm line.
When does the snow season run?
Seasonal plans cover November 1 to April 15.
When do you come to plow?
Dispatch is automatic once 1.75 inches (about 4.4 cm) of snow or more has fallen. You don't need to call us.
What is the 70% rule?
We start plowing once about 70% of the forecast snow has fallen. That way you aren't left with a cleared driveway early in the storm and a pile of new snow on top of it later. During major snowfalls we come back for return visits.
Do you clear walkways or salt?
No. Our residential service is driveway plowing only. We don't shovel walkways, and we only offer salting for commercial properties.
Is the windrow at the end of the driveway included?
Yes. Windrow clearing is included in every seasonal plan. We also have a windrow only program if that's all you need.
Where should I park when it snows?
In the garage, or as close to the garage door as you can, on the side opposite the walkway. Park multiple vehicles in tandem. Please don't move vehicles while the operator is working.
How do I sign up?
Online. Choose your plan, enter your details and pay. It takes a few minutes.
Do I need to create an account first?
No. Your account is created at checkout, so there's no separate sign up step.
Do your prices include HST?
No. All posted prices are before HST. The 13% HST is added to your total.
What is the service agreement?
It's the agreement you accept at checkout. It sets out what the plan includes, the season dates and what we need from you, like where to park during a snow event. Read it before you pay, and ask us if anything is unclear.
Is paying online secure?
Yes. Payments are processed by Stripe. Your card details go straight to Stripe and aren't stored on our servers.
Can I talk to someone before I book?
Of course. Call Nathaniel at (905) 296-3589 or email Info@snowaurora.ca.
What do you do outside of snow season?
Weekly lawn maintenance, fertilization, weed prevention, and spring and fall clean ups. We also quote commercial groundskeeping, interlocking, residential asphalt, tree removal and gravel driveway restoration.
When does weekly lawn maintenance run?
May 6 to October 9. It's $1,649 for a townhouse with a single lane driveway and $1,849 for a detached home with a double lane, before HST. Custom homes are quoted.
How do the fertilization and weed prevention programs work?
Each program is 4 applications over the season for $319 before HST.
How much are spring and fall clean ups?
Spring clean ups are $499 for a townhouse, $599 for a detached home and $1,059 for a larger lot or triple lane. Fall clean ups are $499, $599 and $1,117. Prices are before HST.
Is there an extra charge for corner lots?
Yes. Corner or larger lots add $599 to weekly maintenance, $379 to fertilization or weed programs and $199 to clean ups.
